o Jazmahalis was founded by Hamid and Farhad in 1987 to play jazzed up versions of Iranian folk (“mahali”) tunes, Persian pop covers and originals. They’ve recorded two albums: one of original pop and dance tunes (1990), and another based on the poetry of Nima and Moshiri (1992).

o Los Bandaritos play Afro-Arab music from the Persian Gulf. Bandari – “from the port” – is a powerful fusion of African rhythms and Arabic/Persian melodies. This trance-like music is used in the many countries and islands of the Persian Gulf as much for healing as for listening and dancing. Los Bandaritos offer a unique interpretation of Bandari music right here from the port of San Diego!

o ObTuse Goose are Brian Repec, Oskar Beckmann, and Tony Econom.
